1949年秋天，台中石岡客家青年劉嘉武，跋涉到位於深山的環山部落（Sqoyaw），進行教育改革與政治工作，直到九個月後被保密局逮捕。部落至今仍流傳著他的故事，包括他曾被泰雅族義父帶往位於今日松茂林道的山寮躲藏，以及在被捕之前，以泰雅族語和部落友人告別之語。 　　如今，我們重返歷史現場，隔著溪水，站在「此岸」與「彼岸」，凝視劉嘉武曾身處的風景，並嘗試運用手繪動畫、自然聲景、耆老口述、檔案文字紀錄等方式，重構他在生命末端坦然走過的一段「向死而生」之路。 　　In the autumn of 1949, a Hakka young man went to the indigenous tribe Sqoyaw to carry out educational reform and political work. Nine months later, he was arrested by the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics. Today, led by the tribe elders, we visit the scenery where he was for the last time, and reconstruct a path of “being-towards-death.”
